Ukraine starts accepting Dogecoin for cryptocurrency donations
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Mikhailo Fedorov said on Wednesday that the country is now accepting donations in cryptocurrency in Dogecoin (DOGE-USD).

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Mikhailo Fedorov said on Wednesday that the country is now accepting donations in cryptocurrency in Dogecoin (DOGE-USD).
“Dogecoin has surpassed the value of the Russian ruble,” Fedorov wrote in a tweet.
While he wrote, “We start accepting meme coin donations. Now even meme can support our army and save lives from Russian invaders.”
Doji's wallet address was also included in the tweet. He also tagged Elon Musk who has a history of mentioning meme coins like doge and Shiba Inu (SHIB-USD) via Twitter.
Until recently, cryptocurrency donations to Ukraine have provided more than $40 million, CoinDesk reports.
Looking at the prices of digital assets, Bitcoin (BTC-USD -0.2%) is flat at $44.1K, and Ethereum (ETH-USD -0.2%) is consolidating below $3K. While Dogecoin (DOGE-USD -0.4%) is also barely paying at $0.13.
Whereas, on Monday, Crypto donations to the Ukrainian government reached $22.2 million.
